Protection and Accreditation

Latham Development Services are protected by £5m worth of Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance policies and are both CSCS and SMAS accredited. A copy of the relevant certification is available on request.

SMAS Worksafe Accreditation

Latham Development Services has been awarded a SMAS Worksafe certificate (www.smasltd.com) demonstrating that SSIP core criteria recognised by the HSE and other SSIP accreditation schemes has been met.

Meeting the SSIP Core Criteria demonstrates that Latham Development Services is serious about H&S and have (and use) an effective H&S Management System to ensure that any work they are engaged in is, so far as reasonably practical, carried out without risk to health and safety.

Biography

Jon Latham is a Design Engineer and Project Manager with over twenty years of experience in all aspects of design engineering for major housing projects.

Upon leaving school in 2003, Jon joined Westbury Homes (South West) as Trainee Design Engineer; His placement on a day-release basis enabling him to study towards an HNC in Construction at Somerset College of Arts & Technology while gaining invaluable experience through learning on the job.

Upon being made redundant in 2006, Jon was offered the opportunity to continue his apprenticeship at a multidisciplinary residential design consultancy near Bristol. He went on to enjoy eleven years in this employment, completing his studies in 2007 and making the progression through Trainee Design Engineer, Engineering Technician to Design Engineer; All the while, gaining extensive experience and proficiency in the design engineering and project management of schemes of varying sizes up to 500 units, from conception through to completion.

After eleven years of loyal service and having recently started a family, it was time to make a change and Latham Development Services was established in March 2017 with a view to providing a dynamic and personal design engineering and project management service.
